Bridge Clinic GPs are on-call after hours to provide a service at the Murray Bridge Soldiers Memorial Hospital.

A doctor is always ON CALL for emergencies.
What do I do during office hours?
Contact the Bridge Clinic (8532 2322) to make an appointment or to arrange to see the emergency doctor. They will advise what service is available.
If it is a life threatening emergency, call 000 for an ambulance.
What do I do if I don’t have a local doctor?
During office hours contact the Bridge Clinic (8532 2322)
After hours contact the hospital number (8535 6725) and a nurse will help you and refer you to the doctor on call if required.
What do I do for evenings, or overnight?
If it is a life threatening emergency, call 000 for an ambulance.
After hours contact the hospital number (8535 6725) and a nurse will help you and refer you to the doctor on call if required.

Weekends and Public Holidays
We have doctors ON CALL AT ALL TIMES for EMERGENCIES ONLY.
Saturday
Bridge Clinic is open until 11.30am for emergency consultations.
(Phone 8532 2322)
Sunday
Bridge Clinic is closed. You can ring the hospital to speak to a nurse or go to the hospital and a nurse will assess and discuss with you your need for emergency care.
Will I be seen straight away?
The nursing staff determines who needs to be seen by the doctor first, using a ‘Triage’ system. This means that patients are assessed and seen according to the severity of their medical condition.
Nursing Staff
Nurses are also working on the wards, so remember to press the CALL BELL (in the emergency waiting room) when you arrive at the hospital to notify them of your arrival to accident and emergency.
It is inappropriate to attend the Emergency Department for routine medical consultations.

Do I pay a GAP FEE?
Bridge Clinic doctor’s charge a fee and gap for all after hour’s services and the fee will vary depending on the service. The doctor will provide you with a form showing the fee that is payable on the service.
No payments can be made at the hospital, so you will need to pay this bill either at Bridge Clinic during business hours (a discount is offered for payment within 14 days of service). We accept cash, EFTPOS or credit card. Alternatively, make a credit card payment over the phone during business hours.
Doctors may use their discretion in cases of genuinely financially disadvantaged and chronically ill patients in need of frequent medical attention.
If you are having difficulty paying your account, please discuss this with our Accounts staff, the Practice Manager, or your doctor at Bridge Clinic.
The hospital has no responsibility for charges. Pensioners and Health Care Card Holders are not exempt from paying a gap fee.
