Bridge Clinic
Bridge Clinic is a modern architecturally designed clinic, built in the central business district, giving easy access to patients. A fulltime manager, Jill Coombe, and clerical staff ensure the smooth running of the computerised appointment system, accounts, typing and administrative functions. There is a branch clinic known as Southside operating daily at the southern side of the town. View Map
Qualified nursing staff assist in patient care in areas such as dressings, venepuncture, spirometry, ECG's and the taking of X-rays on site. This support allows doctor to focus on medical care and allows the clinic to run in an extremely efficient manner.
The Bridge Clinic partners are a vibrant group of doctors with extensive experience in rural general practice. The practice is an accredited RACGP training practice and not only hosts trainees but also medical students during their sixth year attachment. Doctors are encouraged to develop and maintain their special interests.
As resident general practitioners we also provide obstetric, anaesthetic, surgery and emergency care at the Murray Bridge Soldier's Memorial Hospital. Five of the partners practice anaesthetics, each usually having a morning list per week. Five of the partners practice obstetrics, providing caesarean sections when required.
In 1995 the Clinic became computerised with appointments, accounts and medical records integrated. We now use the Medtech 32 software package (September 2001). This includes computer script writing and MIMS database. Pathology results are electronically linked to patient's notes.
